Capabilities

Blue Pillar’s Digital Energy Network gives facility managers centralized command and control over the organization’s entire critical energy portfolio of generation and consumption assets. The following capabilities highlight just some of the ways facility managers can use a Digital Energy Network to monitor and manage disparate and distributed energy assets.

Visualization

  • Comprehensive online, real-time monitoring of energy assets
  • Anywhere/anytime access from any Web-enabled computer
  • Live video/audio surveillance feeds can be incorporated into the asset view

UtilityLive shows detailed readings from all utility meters at-a-glance. (See example)

Testing

  • Remote initiation of emergency power supply system tests, such as those required by the Joint Commission for hospitals or the EPA for manufacturing
  • Configurable test and setup options accommodate special needs, such as pre/post-test checklists, partial system tests, 30% load enforcement, etc.

Compliance Reporting

  • Generate reports formatted for a specific regulatory agency, such as the Joint Commission or the EPA
  • Generate ad hoc and/or interim reports to create a more complete historical record
  • Archive any or all reports in digital, printable (PDF) format

Emergency Management

  • Around-the-clock monitoring of system status
  • Immediate notification of emergency events
  • Comprehensive reports for post-emergency analysis
  • Detailed reporting enables using an emergency as a load test

Real-time Situational Awareness

  • At-a-glance status of all emergency power assets on a single screen
  • Drill-down to individual assets to assess operation and/or troubleshoot problems

Proactively Detect Impending Problems

  • Detect and resolve potential vulnerabilities or issues to improve readiness
  • Receive immediate notification of any abnormality with any energy asset
  • “You don’t know what you don’t know…” Become aware of potential problems that previously would have gone undetected

Alarming

  • Alarms are sent immediately via phone, pager or email
  • Alarm notification is also included on all Dashboard screens
  • Complete alarm logging and history are available for forensic analyses

Data Logging

  • Variety of log types: event, historical, archival and testing
  • Supports multiple logging destinations for redundancy and disaster recovery
  • Supports database and/or file-based logging
  • Configurable log rates allow customization of logging strategies

Fuel System Monitoring Option

  • Continuously monitors fuel system levels
  • Provides the lead time that might be needed to schedule a fuel delivery
  • Enables “facility triage” if fuel supplies are too low (such as allowing a non-essential facility to go dark to prolong the availability of emergency power for a critical facility)
