Founded in 2006, Blue Pillar has a six-year track record managing thousands of energy asset endpoints via its Digital Energy Networks. The company supports customers in healthcare, commercial, industrial and manufacturing, military, government, higher education, datacenters and telecommunications, and off-grid/remote markets.

In addition to optimizing an organization’s generation and consumption of energy, a Blue Pillar Digital Energy Network solution enables organizations to reduce energy spend and “monetize” assets through higher participation in demand response and ancillary energy markets.

 

Management Team

Blue Pillar’s management team brings decades of diverse experience and a history of success in energy management, industrial automation, systems development and related fields. Combining business acumen with technical expertise, the team leads the industry in the creation innovative solutions that enable organizations to manage all of their energy assets more effectively.


  • Kevin Kushman

    Chairman and Chief Executive Officer

    Mr. Kushman joined Blue Pillar in August 2010 after having served as Chairman since 2009. Kevin brings a 14-year track record in energy technology executive management, investing and integration, project development and corporate finance to Blue Pillar. Kevin was the co-founder and managing director of CleanBridge Energy Partners, an energy asset development company, focused on clean, distributed energy projects using biomass, biogas and asset optimization technology. Prior to CleanBridge, Kevin was CFO of ZeroPoint Clean Tech, Inc., a biomass gasification and renewable fuels technology company, and previously, CFO of Current Group, a privately-held, Smart Grid communications technology and services company, whose investors include Google, Goldman Sachs, Hearst Corporation and General Electric. Kevin held several management positions at Cinergy Corp. (now Duke Energy) from 1997-2004, most recently as co-founder and Managing Director of Cinergy Ventures, Cinergy’s $180 million corporate venture investment fund. Kevin holds an MBA from Xavier University and earned a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Miami University, Oxford, Ohio.


  • Brad Witter

    Executive Vice President Technology and Operations

    Mr. Witter was the founder of TriA Solutions LLC, which merged with Blue Pillar in 2007. Prior to joining Blue Pillar, Brad held the position of CIO for NNC Group — a software-led “reverse logistics” company. NNC was purchased by Stericycle in 2005. Before that he managed the technical team at Advanced Interface Solutions, Inc., a Wonderware distributor. During his time at AISI, he led many projects including a generator test cell for Caterpillar. Brad began his career as a controls engineer with Caterpillar where he was responsible for designing and implementing turn-key power plant controls and monitoring systems. Brad earned his B.S. in Electrical Engineering at Purdue University.

  • Kyle Zeronik

    Vice President of Technology and Development

    Mr. Zeronik joined Blue Pillar in November 2010. Kyle brings over 15 years of technical excellence and experience in delivering software solutions across various industries. Kyle leads the company’s technology team responsible for delivering innovative solutions that help client’s transform their distributed energy resources into localized dispatchable micro grids. Prior to joining Blue Pillar, Kyle was Vice President of I.T. at Stericycle’s RMS division where his team designed and delivered solutions to manage recalls and other specialty logistics operations. Prior to that Kyle worked in the manufacturing automation industry focusing on connecting plant data to the front office enabling intelligent manufacturing. Kyle began his career as a field engineer with GE Nuclear Energy where he was responsible for implementing the first computer based remote visual inspection system for nuclear facilities. Mr. Zeronik holds a B.S. in Materials Engineering from Purdue University.
